Meet Mave, comic artist for HOME

In a nutshell: A hobby comic artist masquerading as a scientist.

D/P.O.B	1981, Malaysia
Likes	Drawing, internet surfing, studying (geek alert!), ballroom dancing
Dislikes	Wasting resources (time, money and energy). Imagine having to rewrite that long document which was accidentally deleted/lost. Or this scenario: “That stinkin’ parking fine just cost me 2-3 new manga books! ARGH!”
How did she get into comic drawing?	After reading shoujo manga for many years, I got fed up with the “I HAVE TO have a boyfriend/girlfriend”, “I MUST be popular!” and “If everyone’s sleeping around, I’ll do it too” themes. I first posted manga pages in Christian Anime Alliance (CAA) in 2003. Kcome.net was set up after much encouragement from friends. Soon I was drawing comic pages late at night and during weekends while accomplishing my responsibility as a graduate research student. Now that I’m out from school, life’s main challenge is striking a balance between working and drawing.
What are her future plans in comics?	I’m blessed with the contentment of drawing webmanga as a hobby, and will continue to do so as long as the Lord permits. I’m just thankful for the opportunity to do this even if hecticness of life never goes away.
Interesting Facts	Haven’t had a single driving ticket ever since I learnt how to drive (Nyah nyah nyah!) My parents wanted me to be an engineer but I totally hate Physics and Calculus. No, I’m not an engineer and I don’t imagine myself marrying one either. Left-handed Hate wasting food and usually have leftover food packed up, thus earning the nicknames “Mave-To-Go” and “Queen TaPao.”
