Glory Due His Name

By Rohit Chacko, India

How would you feel, O son of man,
When you have fashioned
An exquisite work of art
Yet is deprived of its credit?

I was deprived of the due praise
When by My hands I’ve put forth
The heavens and the earth,
The seen and the unseen.

Work of My hands,
They put down as thesis
Hypothesizing new theories,
But never recognize the hands that made them.

Researchers stand in awe
At the complexity of nature,
Human body is a marvel, they say
Yet the credit goes to evolution instead.

Which of your supercomputers
Could ever match a bee brain!
Could any of your most sophisticated androids,
Be compared to an insect?

Therefore O son of man,
Speak to them thus,
“As your knowledge becomes multifarious
So does your sin!
Therefore I shall choose for Myself
Those whom you consider as
Naive and base;
I will stir up the spirits
Of those whom you despise.

They shall be My people
My heritage, My joy!
They will sing My praise
Their mouths will exalt My glory!
And to them will I give
My kingdom!”

“Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness.” —Psalm 29:2 (NIV)
