Beyond the Hills
By Trevor Shockey, 20, Indiana USA

Even when I can’t see
Beyond the valley
Of my finite world
You still love me
Your love reaches me
From beyond the hills
You see me
Even when I cannot see You
You tend to me
Even when I don’t know that’s true
Beyond the hills
You stretch out Your hand
You call my name
You draw me near
You invite me home
You are there
Waiting for me to see
That even though I am in the valley
And cannot get out on my own
That You are there to help me
So I’ve come with empty hands
I will lift my eyes
And give up my heart
Knowing that I cannot
Live life for myself
I need You
I know I need You
Whether I feel it or not
My soul needs You
You are the only One that satisfies
So I will rest in You
Your peace rushes over me
So I will trust in You
You raise me up on eagle’s wings
So I worship You
You bought me
You saved me
You paid the price
You did what I cannot
You alone deserve my life
I worship You—and You alone.
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” —Psalm 121:1-2
