Solely Yours
By Eugene Seah, 23, Singapore

I remember hearing a story about a mother who endured 9 months of morning sickness, back aches, and gave birth to a 4.25-kilogram baby! That was slightly above the average for a newborn. I’m sure the mother had a tough time carrying the baby in her stomach.
Twenty-three years on, I’m thankful that the lady persevered. The mother in the story was mine and I was the big baby (literally). Now, imagine this: One day, I decided to go up to someone else and call that person, “Mother.” Well, that person will probably think that I am crazy and weird, and my parents would be totally shattered.
“Mother” is not an honorific we give to any Susan or Jane. Only the person who gave birth to us befits this title. On the same note, when we call God our Heavenly Father, it is only right and proper for He created us. He gave us life. He protects and provides for us.
When we turn away from God and call an idol god, it is liken to calling a stranger “Mother.” God demands our total allegiance. Being faithful to God alone means being fully committed to the Lover of our souls, our Lord and Savior. As God commanded in Exodus 20:3-5, “You must not have any other god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods.”
When we are disobedient or unfaithful, it must be like a historical re-run for God, where He relives the anguish He felt when the Israelites whom He saved from oppression rebelled against Him, and turned instead to worship idols and indulge in sexual immorality (Numbers 25:1-4).
Have we been unfaithful? Have we been wearing the cloak of a Christ-worshiper but acting like a pagan in our words and deeds? Do we call ourselves a child of God but place our security in money or certificates?
Know that our Lord who “created [our] inmost being” (Psalm 139:13) and saved us from death to have “eternal life” (John 3:16) has every right to full ownership of our lives. May we therefore be wholly and solely bound to our loving Father—for we are solely His. Today, let us recommit our lives, in full, to Jesus Christ.

So glad your mom persevered. I was thinking as I read this how wonderful it is that she did persevere because you have this ministry. I also thought of all the blessings that has been lost abortion. Is this just another way the thief has come to steal?
Yeah! Me too – I’m so glad God gave your mum the strength to persevere. You’re a blessing. Jesus Christ is and always will be my God! Joy, imagine the kind of blessing these babies would have brought us. Abortion is a great sin – it’s murder. May The Lord Jesus Christ give all men and women around the world this great revelation. -Jeremiah 1:1-5.
