AOTW: Tears in Heaven
Article of the Week – Insights from Bill Crowder

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
In 1991, famed British guitarist Eric Clapton was stricken with grief when his four-year-old son, Conor, died as a result of a fall from an apartment window. Looking for an outlet for his grief, Clapton penned perhaps his most poignant ballad, entitled “Tears in Heaven.” It seems that every note weighs heavy with the sense of pain and loss that can only be understood by a parent who has lost a child. Surprisingly, however, Clapton, in a television interview years later, would say this of the song, “In a sense, it wasn’t even a sad song. It was a song of belief. When it talks about there will be no more tears in heaven, I think it’s a song of optimism — of reunion.”
The thought of a heavenly reunion is powerful indeed. For those who have trusted Christ, there is the hope that we will be reunited forever in a place where there will be no more tears, pain, or death. And, most of all, it is a place where we will forever be with Christ Himself. In our times of loss and grief, of tears and sorrow, it is wonderful to know that Christ has purchased for us a heavenly home where there will be no more tears. What a day that will be!

Weeping may last for a night, but JOY cometh with the morning. But I sometimes wonder, some tears have long being uncleared away. There are many tears in Africa.
Everything on earth is temporary. Sadness and grief is therefore only for a while because when we become one with the Father, it shall be well. The worldly cares shall not matter. There will be no more grief, no more mourning but just sheer joy. The tears in Africa are only temporary as they relate to material needs.Just like the seasons pass, so will this phase.
