We came across this really cool initiative—I Am Second—some months back. We hope to share with the YMIblogging readers one of the stories featured. Hope you will be encouraged!
Jason Castro – American singer-songwriter, contestant of TV show American Idol
Is life more than music and fame?
“There’s always something bigger behind whatever you’re doing.” American Idol’s Jason Castro came to a reality of his own that having a relationship with God didn’t mean he had to conform to religious servitude.
Music became a channel of release and in this discovery he found that it had the power to calm, to move or evoke emotions of any kind. He brought his talent to life by recognizing his love for something bigger and his passion to make not only religious music, but good music. A dear hobby and a mission to find the rhyme and reason of life became something much more than he ever imagined. As he memoirs his journey, the medley Somewhere Over the Rainbow comes to mind and he sings the message about dreams. That if you dare to dream, it will come true. (Abstracted from iamsecond.com)

Let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. —Hebrews 13:15
oh… I came across this site early this year (was searching for info on Jason Castro). His testimonies were very interesting. He shared how his faith inspired him to sing Cohen’s Hallelujah, but seriously, that song doesn’t come close to a praise song. But I’m glad that he’s making a stand for Christ.
