Out of the Ordinary—God’s Hand at Work in Everyday Lives
By David Roper
I liked this book a lot, but reading all of it in one day is quite an overload. There is a lot of information packed into those 170 pages. I enjoyed his writing style, as he relates his personal incidents to stories and people in the Bible, which adds realism to what he says. I liked the chapter “Time for Intolerance” in particular. I think that many people mistake Christians as overly tolerant people, but as David Roper wrote in his book: “There is always a time for intolerance.”
This book caused me to reflect on many things such as how God looks after us and how He could be both caring and strict at the same time. It also made me wonder: How badly punished would I be if I do not listen to God? In the chapter “What is written is written”, this question is being dealt with. It made me fear God’s wrath.
